‘Doctor Strange’ Works His Magic Onto Netflix Streaming

Six months after starting its run at the box office, Marvel's spellbinding Doctor Strange makes its way onto Netflix's streaming service.

Doctor Strange once again proved that Marvel’s brand name alone can help project lesser-known superheroes into stardom, as Scott Derrickson’s trippy magic-based superhero adventure managed to match the box office take of a standalone Superman movie. Now, you can watch the Sorcerer Supreme’s debut adventure into the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the comfort of your couch.

Netflix has just revealed that Doctor Strange has joined its long list of streamable Marvel programming as a part of its long-term deal with Disney. Netflix viewers can also check out the rest of the MCU’s feature films on the service, alongside a large arrangement of Marvel Netflix shows.

Dr. Stephen Strange’s life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.

Doctor Strange is also available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and On-Demand. The film’s cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, and Mads Mikkelsen as Kaecilius.
