Is ‘Doctor Strange’ Director Scott Derrickson Teasing Namor’s MCU Debut?

Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson may have teased the introduction of Namor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Director Scott Derrickson introduced the world into the incredible and imaginative world of Doctor Stephen Strange in 2016 as the Marvel character debuted in the MCU with actor Benedict Cumberbatch in the role. Doctor Strange was a sight to see with really great visuals that took audiences on an exciting trip. Doctor Strange was described as a film comic book viewers had never previously seen and it sure was. Now, Scott Derrickson appears to be teasing the introduction of Marvel character Namor with a tweet that has been deleted. You can view the tweet below.

The tweet not only included the title of the song “Are You Experienced?” by Jimi Hendrix from The Jimi Hendrix Experience, but it also contained the image of the Sorcerer Supreme next to Namor. The lyrics of the song and the image of Namor seems to be enough evidence that the character could possibly be coming to the MCU in the Doctor Strange sequel. On top of that, the Doctor Strange director deleted the tweet, so the MCU could be gearing up to take audiences down to the bottom of the sea.

What do you think of the director’s tease? Do you think Namor could be joining Doctor Strange in the sequel? Share your thoughts below!

Doctor Strange and Wong are expected to return in Avengers: Endgame. Here’s the film’s synopsis:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26, 2019.
