If there’s one thing most people agreed on about last year’s Doctor Strange, it’s how impressive the visual effects were, and this was of course rewarded in a big way yesterday with an Academy Award nomination for the movie in the Best Visual Effects category.
Everyone was quick to congratulate Marvel’s Visual Effects Supervisor Stephane Ceretti for his well-deserved nomination. But the one message we were most happy to read was by Ant-Man’s director Peyton Reed, who in a tweet congratulated Ceretti on his nomination and pretty much confirmed his participation in the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp.
Congrats, @stefceretti, on your Oscar nomination! I look forward to dealing with your attitude on ANT-MAN AND THE WASP.
You can check out Reed’s tweet below.
This is of course great news for Marvel and the fans, as Ceretti impeccable work keeps gracing the MCU and has already been recognized by the Academy when Guardians of the Galaxy was nominated for the same category.
So are you excited that Ceretti will be in charge of Ant-Man and The Wasp’s VFX? Do you think Doctor Strange will take home the Oscar for Best Visual Effects? Let us know in the comments below.
