Drax Still Not A Fan Of Baby Groot in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’

During a set visit of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, Dave Bautista revealed that Drax still isn't a fan of Groot - even as a baby.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit theaters in May and while fans are awaiting its release, Dave Bautista has dropped a hint regarding a certain character dynamic. Since the events of the first film, the Guardians have somewhat managed to get on the same page, but it appears that a few are still figuring out their differences.

When speaking with ComicBook.com during a set visit, Bautista shared his thoughts on how he thinks his character, Drax, still isn’t a fan of Groot – even in baby/plant form.

“[laughs] I don’t think Drax and The Tree are ever going to get along. Just always going to be at odds with each other. It’s like that sibling rivalry, it’s what it feels like to me.”

While it isn’t the most interesting detail, this hint certainly makes it clear that the final scene from the first film which involved a dancing Baby Groot wasn’t just a gag – it was setting up a character dynamic for the second film. You can refresh your mind and check out the hilarious yet adorable scene below.

In other recent Guardians of the Galaxy news, Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) spoke on how the Infinity Stone from the first film will impact the sequel and his character.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2  will hit theaters on May 5th and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Kurt Russell, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel.
