A trio of new banners for Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk show sometimes 'winning' in a war boils down to managing to stay alive in a chaotic situation.
Christopher Nolan’s newest movie, Dunkirk, covers the disastrous Allied invasion of Axis territory and the subsequent miraculous rescue operation that saved the lives of thousands of soldiers in a new, gritty light. Warner Brothers are significantly ramping up marketing on the movie now that Wonder Woman has been out for a few weeks, starting with a trio of new banners showing how the heroes of the movie survive in the air, on land, and at sea when the worst of World War II finally hits them.
IGN exclusively released the following three banners for the film, showcasing Jack Lowden, Fionn Whitehead, and Harry Styles’ characters in action.
Dunkirk is the first feature film that Christopher Nolan has directed in a while, and his first war movie. From the looks of the footage we’ve seen, this movie could offer the most intense cinematic experience that he’s ever directed.
Dunkirk opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.
Dunkirk breaches theaters on July 21, 2017. The film stars Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Fionn Whitehead, Aneurin Barnard, Harry Styles, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan, and Tom Glynn-Carney.
