The upcoming HBO series is said to be a “remix” of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ groundbreaking graphic novel. Only brief glimpses of the series have been shown, teasing a masked law enforcement and the return of Ozymandias, played by Batman v Superman‘s Jeremy Irons. Filming for the series is still underway and Deadline reports Ingram as joined the cast in a key, undisclosed recurring role. Ingram is best known for his work on CMT’s Sun Records and Freeform’s Good Trouble.
Who do you think Ingram is playing? An offspring of an original Watchmen character? Someone new? Speculate in the comments below!
Watchmen stars Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, and Dylan Schombing. The series is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television, based on characters from DC.
Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, WATCHMEN embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.
Lindelof created and wrote the series and also serves as an executive producer alongside Nicole Kassell, Tom Spezialy, Stephen Williams, and Joseph Iberti. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will compose the score for the show.
Watchmen debuts in 2019 on HBO.
