Dwayne Johnson Celebrates Birthday On ‘Rampage’ Set

Production on the upcoming video game adaptation, Rampage is now officially underway. With cameras now rolling on the upcoming film, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, aka the busiest man in Hollywood celebrated his 45th birthday on set.

Thankfully, the Rampage crew did not forget about his birthday. In a recent post on his official Instagram, Johnson shared a photo of a cool birthday cake the Rampage crew presented to him. The cake depicts Johnson being carried by a gigantic albino gorilla named George. You can see the photo down below.

The cake features this message written in icing:

Happy Birthday DJ! You’re easily George’s favorite cheat meal.

Production on any film with The Rock always seems like a blast. Hopefully, with his passion for the classic arcade game will translate into an entertaining film. Besides, we are in desperate need of a good big screen video game adaptation.

Directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas), Rampage stars Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Joe Manganiello, Malin Akerman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hil, P.J. Byrne, Jack Quaid and Matt Gerald. Here is the official synopsis:

Primatologist Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

Rampage is currently slated to hit theaters on April 20, 2018.
