Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam Battles Zachary Levi’s Shazam In New Image

Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam goes head to head with Zachary Levi’s Shazam in this exciting new image that envisions the battle between the two iconic DC characters.

Although DC Films and Warner Bros. already have a Shazam! sequel with Zachary Levi in the works — which Zachary Levi himself revealed he expects will start filming as early as next spring —  it’s uncertain whether or not Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam will be featured in the film. Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam will likely be introduced in his own standalone movie before he appears in a film with Zachary Levi, Shazam! producer Peter Safran previously said.

The standalone film featuring Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam is also beginning to pick up steam as Jaume Collet-Serra is in talks to direct the film. Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Buck Productions is targeting sometime in 2020 to start filming.

Even though it might be a while before Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam and Zachary Levi’s Shazam go head to head in a film, we can still depend on fan artists to give us an idea of what the iconic duel will look like.

Are you excited to see  Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam battle Zachary Levi’s Shazam? Do you want to see Dwayne Johnson appear in the Shazam! sequel opposite Zachary Levi? Or would you rather Dwayne Johnson be featured in his own standalone Black Adam film before appearing against Zachary Levi? What other villains would you like to see Zachary Levi face? Let us know in the comments below!

Here’s the synopsis for Zachary Levi’s Shazam!:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.

After Shazam!, the DCEU continues next year with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie and Zachary Levi’s Shazam! sequel as we learn it.
