During an appearance on The Titan Games, in which contestants face-off in endurance-based mental and physical challenges, series creator Dwayne Johnson appeared before an enthusiastic audience while wielding a hammer. Holding the tool prompted Dwayne Johnson to propose a Fast & Furious and Thor crossover film in which Luke Hobbs faces off against Chris Hemsworth as Thor, a showdown Johnson predicted would end with the God of Thunder’s defeat:
“I know why my buddy Chris Hemsworth likes putting on that Thor costume. I mean, there’s real power in wielding a hammer like this. I got an idea, guys: how about we make a Thor and Fast & Furious movie, you guys want to do that? Where the God of Thunder, Thor himself, he comes flying in and then wham! He gets stopped by the real God of Thunder. Box office gold, hashtag #ThorHitsTheFloor. You’re welcome, Chris. He’s gonna text me later.”
In a post on his official Twitter account, Dwayne Johnson stated that he would call Kevin Feige to make the project a reality.
Of course, fans may have to wait until the fourth Avengers film to see of Thor is even capable of participating in such a showdown, as the God of Thunder is widely believed to be one of the characters who could meet their demise in the Marvel Studios epic.
A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.
Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
