WWE Superstar Roman Reigns Joins Dwayne Johnson In ‘Hobbs and Shaw’

WWE superstar Roman Reigns Joins the cast of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham’s Hobbs and Shaw.

Dwayne Johnson has taken to his Instagram (as he usually does) to announce another casting reveal for the upcoming Fast and Furious spin-off Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, which will feature him reprising his fan-favorite role of Luke Hobbs alongside Jason Statham as former villain Deckard Shaw. But this casting is unique, in that it is wrestling champion Roman Reigns who is coming onboard, and to play Hobbs’s brother, Deadline  reports.

Take a look below to see Johnson’s post:

As Dwayne Johnson states in his post, this will be Roman Reigns’ acting debut. The two go back a long way to their WWE days, and no doubt Johnson played a part in getting Roman Reigns onboard. Could a flat-out acting career a la Dwayne Johnson or fellow former Dave Bautista be in the works? Only time will tell. In the meantime, we’ll keep you posted on any Fast and Furious news that comes our way.

What do you think of this casting? Are you excited to see Roman Reigns make his acting debut? Let us know in the usual spot!!

Hobbs & Shaw is being directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2) from a script written by franchise veteran Chris Morgan.

Here’s the official synopsis for Hobbs and Shaw:

“A spinoff of The Fate of the Furious, focusing on Johnson’s US Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs forming an unlikely alliance with Statham’s Deckard Shaw.”

Hobbs and Shaw stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Vanessa Kirby, Eddie Marsan, Eiza Gonzalez, and Idris Elba.

Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw will hit theaters August 2, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Fast and Furious franchise as we learn it.
