E3 2020 Cancelled Over Fear Of Coronavirus Spread

E3 2020 to be cancelled over growing concerns surrounding the spread of Coronavirus.

E3 2020 is the latest event to be cancelled due to the increased spread of coronavirus across the world. While the United States isn’t as affected by the virus, many event organizers don’t want to risk making the situation worse. Most recently, Emerald City Comic-Con and South by Southwest (SXSW) were both cancelled by Seattle and Austin respectively. But the organizers of E3 2020 seemingly have a scheduled announcement planned to confirm the event’s cancellation.

Although a statement over E3 2020 hasn’t been issued yet, a number of publications have discussed the rumored cancellation online, but it’s not yet clear whether the event will be postponed for a later date or just completely cancelled. Some suggested Many credible sources on Twitter explained that E3 2020 has an announcement planned for tomorrow regarding the coronavirus. Take a look below.

While Microsoft were looking to focus on the next generation of console gaming after PlayStation had pulled out of E3, it seems that companies will have to find new ways of revealing their plans for future console releases and titles away from the iconic event.

So far there are 157 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in California and three people have sadly died after catching the virus. There’s currently 1016 cases in the United States with 31 deaths in total. In addition to E3 2020’s potential cancellation, coronavirus fears have also halted the Prague production of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and No Time To Die will now release in November instead of April which could be a huge blow for Eon, MGM and Universal.
