The image in question came from one Andy Park who has worked as a concept artist for Marvel Studios since Captain America: The First Avenger and has done work for many of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Among these was, of course, Captain Marvel. And we now have an idea as to what Brie Larson’s character could have looked like if Marvel had decided to stick closer to the concept art.
The image in question comes from Andy Park’s official Instagram account. In it, the color scheme for Brie Larson’s outfit remains the same but the upper areas seem to be a bit different. Her neck, in particular, is a bit more exposed, giving the costume a look as if it was originally designed as a more casual shirt with a collar on it.

From the look of things, Marvel wanted something a bit more militaristic looking for Brie Larson’s final suit!
