Gareth Edwards & Jordan Vogt-Roberts Wish The ‘Godzilla 2’ Team Luck

Production on the Godzilla sequel is currently underway and the film will be the third entry in the cinematic MonsterVerse before the titular beast goes head-to-head with King Kong. Now, directors Gareth Edwards and Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who helmed Godzilla (2014) and Kong: Skull Island, respectively, have shared an image where the two filmmakers wish the Godzilla 2 team luck as their journey begins.

Director Mile Dougherty, who will helm the sequel, also shared an image yesterday to celebrate the beginning of production. You can check out the posts below!

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.  When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

The film stars Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Zhang Ziyi, Anthony Ramos, Ken Watanabe, Randy Havens, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, Thomas Middleditch, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins and Charles Dance.

Godzilla 2 will be released in theaters on March 22, 2019.
