Elizabeth Olsen Reveals If Scarlet Witch Could’ve Killed Thanos In ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Avengers: Endgame star Elizabeth Olsen has revealed whether or not she thinks that Scarlet Witch could have killed Thanos, presuming that he didn’t issue orders interrupting their duel.

In Avengers: Endgame, Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) intercepts Thanos (Josh Brolin) as he means to grab the Stark Industries-made Infinity Gauntlet in a short confrontation. Elizabeth Olsen’s villain-turned-hero nearly crushes him to death using her telekinetic abilities, but he gets out of the confrontation by ordering the Sanctuary II to rain fire upon the entire battlefield, his own soldiers included, to free himself from her grasp.

While talking with IMDB at Disney D23, Elizabeth Olsen explained that she thinks that, in that level of emotional compromise, an enraged Scarlet Witch easily could have killed Thanos. Elizabeth Olsen is so confident in Scarlet Witch’s abilities that she even answered in a whimsical way:

“He brought out the big guns he didn’t even mean to bring out. I was gettin’ him good! …Hello, someone was angry, and had something to say about it – and it was [points to herself] this one, right here!”

Elizabeth Olsen’s fellow Avengers: Infinity War co-star Paul Bettany (who sat out Avengers: Endgame) clearly agreed with her. You can see the exchange about the two Avengers characters below:

Between Scarlet Witch and Captain Marvel, Thor and the Hulk may have to rethink who the strongest one of the Avengers really is. Elizabeth Olsen will next appear as Scarlet Witch in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Here is the official synopsis to Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
