‘WandaVision’ Star Elizabeth Olsen Plays Coy About The Show’s Villain

Does WandaVision even have a villain?

Elizabeth Olsen recently addressed whether or not WandaVision will have a villain in the Marvel Studios series.

Three episodes into WandaVision so far, and we still don’t know who the villain might be. Many Marvel fans suspect Kathryn Hahn could be behind it all as Agatha Harkness, but others speculate that some greater force might be at play. A popular theory is that WandaVision will introduce Mephisto since the series will lead into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Elizabeth Olsen set to appear.

In an interview with Elle, Elizabeth Olsen talked about the unique approach to WandaVision and touched on where the series’ villain is, if there is one at all:

“Someone said to me when you watch any of these hero movies, you know when the villain’s about to show themselves, and you also have an idea of who the villain is. With our show, you don’t know what the villain is, or if there is one at all. Wanda is trying to protect everything in her bubble, protect what she and Vision have and this experience. I think everything she does is in response to keeping things together.”

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

Matt Shakman directed the series with Jac Schaeffer as the lead scribe; WandaVision will star Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn in an undisclosed role. The President of Marvel Studios has said that the series leads into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

WandaVision premieres on Disney Plus every Friday. Keep following along to stay up to date on all of the latest news surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
