Emily Bett Rickards announced her exit from the series at the end of last month, just weeks after Stephen Amell revealed Arrow would be coming to an end after the eighth season. Emily Bett Rickards announced her departure ahead of the abbreviated eighth season, revealing she would not be returning to reprise her role as Felicity beyond the seventh season’s finale.
On the set of her last day on Arrow, Emily Bett Rickards took to Instagram to share a series of emotional goodbyes to her cast and crew for which she has worked with for nearly seven years. The actor has portrayed the resident hacker Felicity Smoak on Arrow since its first season debuted in 2012.

The CW’s staple superhero series served as launch pad for much of the network’s current superhero lineup including Legends of Tomorrow and especially The Flash, which introduced Grant Gustin’s Scarlet Speedster into the Arrowverse in Arrow‘s second season before the actor got his very own spin-off. Fast forward six years later and The CW is chock full of superhero shows including Supergirl, and Black Lightning, plus a Batwoman pilot which is currently in production.
