‘Arrow’ Producers React To Emily Bett Rickards’ Exit

Emily Bett Rickards is officially leaving Arrow at the end of season seven and producers Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz have shared their thoughts on the emotional departure.

Arrow will be ending after its eighth season on The CW. Arrow kicked off a whole TV universe, dubbed the “Arrowverse”, of hit DC superhero shows that fans have fallen in love with for almost a decade. Although producers Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz will be giving Arrow a proper sendoff next season, Emily Bett Rickards will not be there for it.

Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity Smoak in the series, announced earlier today that she would not be coming back for Arrow season eight. Producers Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz have now given their official thoughts on the departure of Emily Bett Rickards at the end of season seven. Check out what the duo had to say about the subject below via TV Line.

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Emily since Season 1 and in those past seven years she has brought one of TV’s most beloved characters to life”

The statement from the producing duo continued as such.

“And although we’re heartbroken to see both Emily and Felicity leave the show, we’re completely supportive of Emily and her future endeavors. She will always have a family at Arrow.”

Although Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz’s Arrow will be ending after season eight, fans still have plenty of DC shows on The CW to check out. The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl will make sure the Arrowverse lives on after Arrow ends. Outside of the Arrowverse, The CW also has comic book adaptations like Black Lightning and Riverdale for fans to indulge in.

The DC Universe streaming service will also be rolling out a slew of new shows this year. Aside from the already-released episodes of Titans, Doom Patrol, and Young Justice: Outsiders subscribers can look forward to new shows like Swamp Thing, Stargirl, and Harley Quinn coming to the streaming service by the end of the year.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Emily Bett Rickards’ final days on Arrow as soon as more information becomes available.
