No Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) isn’t dealing with any ghosts, but Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson will be joining the cast of Arrow for an upcoming episode of the series titled “Spartan”.
The Ghostbusters star is reportedly playing a general for the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) and will be reuniting with Diggle (David Ramsey) and the rest of team Arrow on a mission regardless of their unresolved issues of the past.
Since the identity of the character is still a mystery, it’s unclear if Ernie Hudson will be playing one of the characters from the comics or an original character created for the show. It’s speculated that Hudson will be a former mentor figure to Diggle that he perhaps had a falling out with after some decisions were made previously at ARGUS.
Hudson recently wrapped production on season one of Bad Boys spin-off L.A.’s Finest where he acts opposite of Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba. The series focuses primarily on Sydney Burnett (Union) and her work in the Drug Enforcement Agency and premiers on May 13th.
Hudson also currently appears on Netflix original series Grace and Frankie.
Although the CW’s Arrow has recently been confirmed to end after season 8 by Stephen Amell himself, the series continues to bring in known talent to increase the quality of the show and leave its many fans with a show to remember and revisit time and time again.
