Events Of Next Three Marvel Movies Will ‘Heavily’ Influence ‘Infinity War’

The events of the three Marvel movies leading up to 'Avengers: Infinity War' will 'heavily' influence the film, according to Kevin Feige.

Avengers: Infinity War is less than a year away and there’s still a lot we don’t know about the film. However, according to Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, the events of the three Marvel movies leading up to Infinity War will “heavily” influence the next ensemble film.

The three films Feige is referencing are Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, and Black Panther. While speaking with Comicbook.com, Feige hinted at how much and in what way the movies would influence Infinity War.

“Very heavily,” Feige said. “Very heavily, as Iron Man and Captain America influenced the first Avengers. More so than the movies leading into Age of Ultron, even. They really build up to that.”

With the final Infinity Stone most likely being revealed in Ragnarok, it’s clear that Thor’s third solo outing will play a major role in what’s to come. What remains unclear is just how much the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Black Panther will play into the future, though Black Panther‘s role seems easier to imagine as it debuts only a few months before Infinity War.

Feige also has some ideas as to when we’ll start seeing promotional materials and advertising for Avengers: Infinity War.

“It’s a good question,” Feige said. “I’m not sure. I think it would be late summer, early, mid fall? Ragnarok, probably.”

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3, 2017.

Black Panther will be released in theaters on February 16, 2018.

Avengers: Infinity War is slated to hit theaters May 4, 2018.
