Ewan McGregor Sports Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Haircut At The Golden Globes

Star Wars icon Ewan McGregor spoted his classic Obi-Wan Kenobi hairstyle during his appearance at the 2020  Golden Globes.

With the first season of The Mandalorian now complete, many Star Wars fans are turning their attention to the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Ewan McGregor. Although official details on the series are being kept under lock and key, it is believed to center on Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi during his time in exile after the Jedi Purge.

With production on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series scheduled to begin in the summer of 2020, fans suspected the long hair Ewan McGregor sported during the 2020 Golden Globe Awards was for the highly-anticipated Star Wars series. Of course, Ewan McGregor may simply have grown out his hair for personal reasons, but the fact that Obi-Wan Kenobi had longer hair for Star Wars: Episode III – Attack of the Clones has some fans thinking otherwise.

Directed by Deborah Chow from scripts written by Hossein Amini, Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series is just one of three officially announced Star Wars shows for Disney Plus. The Mandalorian debuted on the streaming service this past November with stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.

An untitled Rogue One prequel centered on Cassian Andor is also in development with Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk reprising their respective roles. The Americans producer Stephen Schiff serves as showrunner and the series is expected to begin filming this year.

Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the Star Wars franchise and Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
