‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ EP Malcolm Spellman On The Next Captain America

Who do you think will be the next Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Executive Producer Malcolm Spellman sat with us to discuss US Agent and the future of Captain America.

During the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers passed the mantle of Captain America on to Sam Wilson by giving him his shield. Sam was a bit apprehensive about taking on the mantle and from the looks of the trailers for the upcoming Marvel Studios series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he doesn’t. In the Disney Plus series, Wyatt Russell plays John Walker, a.k.a. US Agent, but this time he will be known as the new Captain America.

We recently had a chat with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Executive Producer Malcolm Spellman, who discussed if Wyatt Russell will stay on as the new Captain America or if Sam Wilson will end up adopting the mantle. “You’ve seen the first episode. I think everyone is expecting this… Post-Endgame, Sam is going to be Cap and we’ll see him struggle to be Captain America with Bucky.” Spellman told Heroic Hollywood. “And as you see, that’s not at all what’s going to happen. And yes, Wyatt is not going nowhere, nor is U.S. Agent.”

Who do you think will become Captain America in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier? Are you excited to see the series when it premieres this Friday? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!

Here is the official synopsis for the Marvel Studios series:
