Fandango’s video-on-demand streaming service, FandangoNow, will have the exclusive rights as the only transactional VOD service to bring IMAX enhanced films to home entertainment systems in the U.S. through 2019. Cameron Douglas, Head of FandangoNOW, made the following statement on the partnership between FandangoNow and IMAX:

We are thrilled to be collaborating with IMAX and DTS to serve as the exclusive digital retailer in the U.S. for IMAX Enhanced content releasing later this year, helping consumers access premium 4K HDR content as the filmmaker intended in the home.”

Fandango plans to offer IMAX Enhanced films, including IMAX documentaries and big studio titles such as Venom, at launch later this year. The IMAX Enhanced program was created by IMAX and DTS out of their combined expertise in image and sound technology development to allow consumers to choose content for home viewing that offers the highest quality 4K HDR images and sound.
FandangoNOW is currently available on more than 200 million connected devices, experienced double-digit sales growth in 2018, and was inducted into Variety’s Home Entertainment Hall of Fame for its innovation and expansive library of more than 80,000 new release and catalog movies, next-day TV shows and growing library of 4K titles.

Venom will be available on Digital HD on December 11 and will be released on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD on December 18.
