J.K. Rowling Confirms The ‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ Script Has Been Completed

J.K. Rowling Confirms The 'Fantastic Beasts 2' Script Has Been Completed. She was responding to a fan online regarding the question.

Author J.K. Rowling, via Twitter, recently confirmed that she has finished writing the script for the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The as-of-yet-unnamed sequel, which will be the second of a five film franchise, will be released in 2018.

You can read the full tweet below. Rowling, best known for writing the Harry Potter series, was answering a fan’s question regarding whether or not she’d already written the sequel.

Fantastic Beasts 2 is supposed to begin filming in July of this year, so it makes sense that Rowling has the screenplay already written ahead of time. This way, if there need to be any changes made to the script or something regarding production changes, there’ll be enough time as to not alter any aspects of scheduling.

David Yates, who directed Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, as well as the final four Harry Potter films, will be back to direct the sequel. Obviously, there isn’t any other information that can be taken from the tweet as Rowling herself says she can’t tell us anything.

The first film came out in November of 2016 and was the first of what was supposed to be a trilogy and has now been expanded to five films.
