Meet Newt Scamander In New ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ Featurette

Following the latest poster for the movie, Warner Bros. has released a brand new featurette for David Yates’ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, featuring J. K. Rowling and star Eddie Redmayne introducing us to the lead hero, Newt Scamander, and revealing a few new details about the plot of the Harry Potter prequel.

The featurette also gives us our first look at the Bowtruckle, which you might remember from some of the old Harry Potter video games. It’s one of the many magical creatures that will be making an appearance in the movie and one of the first ones to be revealed in the marketing material so far. You can watch the new featurette below.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Carmen Ejogo, Ron Perlman and Ezra Miller, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters on November 18, 2016. Are you excited?
