News of the delay of the still untitled third Fantastic Beasts iteration came today from Deadline. The website reports that the movie would start filming by July 2019 but now it’s looking like it will start around October or November. It seems that the film’s crew will need even more time for pre-production than previously expected, so now the actors involved in the film will probably need to adjust their working schedules. One of those actors is Ezra Miller, which is expected to reprise his role as Credence Barebone/Aurelius Dumbledore.
The real bad news involving Fantastic Beasts 3 delay may involve DC’s The Flash. According to a report from Variety, Ezra Miller’s The Flash standalone live-action film was scheduled to start filming later this year, which now will have scheduling issues due to the delay of the untitled Fantastic Beasts film. Since both films are produced by Warner Bros. this shouldn’t be as big of a deal, but it’s sure to disheartened fans.
The DCEU will continue next with Shazam! which will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019, and will be followed by a standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019. The DC movies scheduled for 2020 are Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5. With this news, we’re likely to see The Flash released on theaters in late 2020 or maybe even further on early 2021.
We’ll update you as we know more about new DC films incoming in future months. Stay tuned on Heroic Hollywood for more!
