Find out what the stars of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them had to say about Johnny Depp's cameo in the upcoming movie.
In a recent interview with E! Online, Eddie Redmayne was asked about keeping Depp’s role a secret. Here’s what the actor told the site:
“Wait, Johnny Depp is in this movie? We know nothing. We can reveal nothing. One of the wonderful things about making this film was the story that J.K. Rowling had written and the surprises and secrecy for it. I know in the age of social media, it’s impossible to keep those secrets but if there’s any way we can keep some of them secret, it would be so lovely to do.”
Meanwhile, Alison Sudol was a little more open and revealed that she didn’t know about Depp’s addition to the cast until very recently:
“We didn’t have to keep it for that long because we only found out shortly before it was released publicly, luckily. And we’ve had to keep so many secrets at this point that we basically are used to having to be vaults.”
The same thing happened with Colin Farrell, who didn’t know about Depp until very late in the process:
“I didn’t know until very late so I didn’t feel like I had to keep [it a secret]. I don’t have any friends so.”
