On Monday, police and paramedics were called to Leavesden Studios in the UK after stuntman Joe Watts suffered a serious injury following an onset accident. Initial reports claimed Joe Watts is the stunt double for Vin Diesel, the lead star of the Fast and Furious franchise, but The Hollywood Reporter’s source close to production says this is not true.
According to THR’s source, the stuntman was present during the accident, which is believed to have taken place while Joe Watts was filming a scene that required him to leap from a balcony while attached to a safety wire. The source adds Joe Watts’ fiancee stated he was “stable but in an induced coma.”
