Kevin Feige On How Big Spider-Man’s Role Will Be In ‘Avengers: 3’

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige on how big Spider-Man's role will be in 'Avengers: Infinity War' & possible 'Homecoming' character appearances.

While Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the titular hero’s first standalone film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the wall crawler made his memorable MCU debut in last year’s Captain America: Civil War. Of course, with the web slinger confirmed to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, fans have been wondering if Spider-Man’s role in the film will be comparable to his first MCU appearance or if he will have a larger presence. In an interview with Fandango, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige commented on just how much of Spider-Man fans can expect to see in the third Avengers film.

Feige revealed that Spider-Man’s role in Avengers: Infinity War will be equivalent to his initial MCU appearance:

“I think it might feel bigger a little bit because of Homecoming and because of what people know from it, but it’s about on par with [Civil War].”

When asked if characters from Spider-Man: Homecoming might appear in Infinity War, Feige played coy:

“There’s a pretty big crew already in those movies, but you might keep an eye out.”

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautisa, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released in theaters on May 4, 2018.
