The Fast & Furious franchise continues. With a few sequels and spin-offs in the works, the universe is expanding massively. Later this year, Hobbs & Shaw will be releasing and Fast 9 and Fast 10 are also in the works. Another spin-off that recently made a huge step forward is one featuring the female characters of the franchise. It has been announced that a screenplay is currently in development from writers Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet. This confirmation comes from Vin Diesel’s Instagram, with the actor congratulating the three screenwriters and welcoming them to the Fast & Furious family.
Perlman and Robertson-Dworet have collaborated together in the past, with one of their projects being the upcoming blockbuster Captain Marvel, another female-led movie. The Fast & Furious franchise is one of the longest-running franchises in Hollywood. With these female screenwriters writing for an all female cast, it’s sure to be another great addition to the fast-paced car chases audiences love that have kept the franchise going for this long.
