First Clip Of Sylvester Stallone In ‘Guardians Vol. 2’ Pops Up Online

With so much focus on Cash, Tango snuck by us. I’m talking of course about Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone, the stars of the eponymous movie, both of whom join this weekend’s latest Marvel extravaganza Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Russell has been the focus of much of the interest and mystery surrounding Vol. 2 due to his role as the long-lost father of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), revealed to be Ego the Living Planet. Under the radar, Stallone pops in a couple scenes in the movie as Stakar Ogord aka Starhawk, an “original” Guardian of the Galaxy from the comics, recast here as a leading Ravager.

While the two don’t share a scene in Vol. 2, one character Stallone’s Stakar does interact with is Michael Rooker’s Yondu Udonta. They share heated words near the beginning of the film which speaks to a history between the two characters and what broke their bond, namely Yondu accepting to shepherd Ego’s offspring to him to find out if they could harness Celestial power like him. Kidnapping kids doesn’t fit in Stakar’s honor code. Check out the clip below.
