‘First Look At Braniac-5 In ‘Supergirl’ Revealed

As Supergirl returns with its third season, the Legion of Super-Heroes will be properly introduced - and now, we have a clear look at one of their members.

Supergirl kicks off the mid-season return with an episode about the Legion of Super-Heroes covering for Kara Danvers as she recovers from her brutal defeat at the hands of Reign. Among the heroes from the 31st century is Braniac-5, whose design for the show has just been revealed.

In the premise of the new episode, Braniac-5 is stated to be looking for a way to accelerate Kara’s recovery. The first look at Jesse Rath as the alien superhero can be seen below:

In the comics, Braniac-5 is a descendant of the original Braniac who joined the Legion of Super-Heroes as atonement for his ancestor’s acts of villainy. In Supergirl, another Coulan that used the designation of Braniac-8 fought the Girl of Steel, so it’s not like she’s had pleasant experiences with the aliens. While it remains to be seen if the original Braniac will appear on the show, it certainly seems as though there will be more of his species as the show progresses.

Supergirl returns on January 15, 2018. The series stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, David Harewood as J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor and Odette Annable as Samantha Arias/Reign.
