First Look At Donald Glover In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

Before Donald Glover hits space with Han Solo, he will be appearing in the next Spider-Man movie. But could he be an iconic villain from the comics?

Well, well, well. In case you have been living under a rock for the past hour, the first official trailer for Sony‘s Spider-Man: Homecoming landed on the worldwide web. The trailer was full of amazing moments like a cameo from Iron Man, to the tease of Michael Keaton’s villainous Vulture. However, one of the most interesting components of Homecoming has been the casting of The Martian actor, Donald Glover. Back in 2012, Glover was heavily interested in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man. However, he never landed the role as it went to Andrew Garfield instead. Since then, Glover has gone on record to say how excited he would be to join the Marvel Universe, and now, he has.

In the first trailer, if you look rather closely, you will see Donald Glover standing next to Logan Marshall-Green. Of course, Green looks kind of like The Shocker, so he is probably apart of his gang or something. Interestingly, many believed Glover would be playing one of Peter’s teachers, but as the trailer shows, if he is a teacher, he certainly isn’t a good one. You can check out the image below:

Now, I don’t know about you, but that certainly looks suspicious. Part of me thinks Glover could be just a random thug, but I don’t think you hire an actor of that star power, and that ability, for a nameless role. Could Glover be playing none other than The Prowler? In the comic books, The Prowler was a young inventor, and from the clip, we do see Glover showing off the high tech weaponry. So, who knows? I could be wrong, probably am wrong, but it would be pretty cool to see The Prowler on screen, would it not?

What do you guys think? Are you excited to see Spider-Man: Homecoming? Of course, if you weren’t, why would you be here?

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theatres everywhere on July 7, 2017.
