Vin Diesel surprises fans at CinemaCon with a special early screening of The Fate of the Furious. The first reactions are in.
While the reviews are a bit mixed, one thing that is abundantly clear, this film does not skimp on spectacle. If all you’re looking for is a big dumb action movie (and I mean that in the best way, I love these movies as well), then The Fate of the Furious sounds like the film for you. Check out the reactions below:
That last tweet is a bit interesting. All this time I’ve been not-so-secretly hoping that this so-called feud between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel was all in the service of setting up a match at Wrestlemania to promote the film, which comes out the following week, but if they were really being kept separated on set, then maybe it’s not just a gimmick to sell more tickets. I’m still tuning into Wrestlemania this Sunday to find out for sure.
Now that Dom (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.
The Fate of the Furious races into theaters on April 14. The film is directed by F. Gary Gray and stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludarcis, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren.
