‘Thor: Ragnarok’ First Reactions: The Film ‘Absolutely Rocks’

With the social media embargo lifted, the first reactions to Thor: Ragnarok, the latest entry in both the MCU and in the Thor saga, have hit the web.

With the social media embargo lifted, the first reactions to Thor: Ragnarok, the latest entry in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in the Thor saga, have hit the web.

The third Thor film picks up where we left the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth): back on his homeworld of Asgard. However, an evil is brewing as Hela, the Goddess of Death (Cate Blanchett) takes over and destroys Asgard, as well as Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. Captured and brought to fight in gladiatorial combat, it’s up to Hemsworth’s hero to recruit The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and even his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in order to save Asgard and prevent Ragnarok, the end of the world.

So just how does the newest addition matchup to previous Marvel Cinematic Universe fare? The first reactions from critics praise the film as a hilarious and visually stimulating sci-fi fantasy, closer in tone to Guardians of the Galaxy rather than the previous two Thor films. You can check out their tweets below:

Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Idris Elba, Karl Urban, Anthony Hopkins, and Jeff Goldblum.

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.

Ragnarok hits theaters November 3, 2017.
