The cast of The Flash reveals how Season 4 begins following Barry leaving into the Speed Force. Season 4 begins October 10th on The CW.
While speaking to ComicBook.com at San Diego Comic Con 2017, the cast shared some details about how Season 4 begins. First up, the star of the series, Grant Gustin revealed how much time has passed since the events of the finale:
“Six months later. Barry’s in the Speed Force. And that’s pretty much all I’ve got, because Barry’s in the Speed Force.
Candice Patton revealed how Team Flash are keeping Central City safe without the Scarlet Speedster and how her character Iris West fits into that:
“He [Barry] is very mad about it. We pick up six months later. S.T.A.R. Labs is trying to keep it together without Barry, so Kid Flash is kind of taking up a lot of the slack for Barry; Iris is kind of the team leader at S.T.A.R. Labs this season – or at least starting in the season without Barry – and Joe, and Cisco… We’re all trying to keep Central City safe without The Flash. It’s hard – it’s hard not having him around.”
Then, Harrison Wells/Harry/H.R. actor Tom Cavanagh chimed in, adding, “But it’s also a lot quieter…” Patton responded jovially, saying, “Shame!”
The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West and Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash. Here’s the official synopsis:
Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell.
The Flash returns for its fourth season on October 10th at 8/9c on The CW.
