‘Flash Gordon’ &’ Incredible Hulk’ Stars Feud At London’s Comic Con

While fans may have enjoyed watching the Dark Knight and Man of Steel throw down in Batman v. Superman or felt conflicted as Steve Rogers battled Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War, it appears superhero feuds are not limited to the pages of comic books or movie theater screens. The Sun reports that Flash Gordon star Sam J. Jones and The Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno engaged in a heated argument at London’s Comic Con as fans lined up for autographs.

The argument escalated to the point where a fan intervened to separate the two actors before a brawl ensued. Darryn Clements, a Comic Con attendee who dressed as Suicide Squad‘s El Diablo, recalled his experience:

“There was a large crowd around, so I told them to act like adults and grow up as they were supposed to be there for their fans. I don’t know if I was the real superhero because if there was a clash of the Titans I would have got squashed.”

Clements detailed the argument that unfolded as both actors posed for photographs and signed autographs with fans.

“Flash Gordon was telling the Hulk to go home. Lou was just saying, ‘You’re winding me up’. There was a lot of finger-jabbing and it was getting pretty nasty.”

Clements explained why he felt the need to intervene and seperate both actors.

“I thought this has to be calmed down because if one hits the other it would be chaos — they are absolute monsters. I made them laugh and that seemed to calm everything down.”

Though Lou Ferrigno declined to comment on the matter, his minder did offer his take on the situation.

“They were having a conversation.”

On the other hand, Sam J. Jones claimed that the two actors were actually intervening in a separate feud involving two other Comic Con attendees.

“It was between two other guys who wanted to fight each other. He and I together defused it.”

Regardless of the reason why both actors were arguing, it appears the situation had been quelled as both actors returned to their respective tables the next day, sitting side-by-side to greet fans and sign memorabilia.
