The Flash had its season premiere last night on The CW, starting off with the popular “Flashpoint” storyline. If you don’t know, the story follow the Flash as he changes everything by saving his mother, Nora Allen, from being killed. By doing this he creates a new alternate timeline where everything is not what he expected it to be.
While the “Flashpoint” premiere was an anticipating story for the new season. The ratings didn’t quite reach the mark that was hit in the previous season of the show. Ratings went down but that doesn’t mean they were bad ratings for a premiere.
“The Flash Season 3 premiere episode “Flashpoint” averaged a 1.2 with the key demographic of adults 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall in its initial broadcast. Comparatively, The Flash Season 2 premiere had a 1.4 with the key demographic and was watched by a total audience of 3.6 million in its first broadcast.”
Also keep in mind that delayed viewings of the episode will add a bump to the rating as more people catch up. The storyline for this season will continue next week with “Paradox” that follows the consequences Barry will receive for messing with the timeline.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
