Helbing explained why Killer Frost will be even more formidable adversary this time.
“She’s a very, very formidable adversary. She has knowledge of everybody because she’s been friends with them, so she’s really going toward the dark side and we’re going for it.”
Helbing provided a definite answer when asked if fans will see the future vision where Killer Frost fights Cisco/Vibe unfold.
“Yes, you will.”
Kreisberg explained how Killer Frost’s return will raise the stakes on Barry’s quest to save Iris.
“It’s not just Iris and Barry’s future that’s at stake, it’s also Caitlin’s, and watching her try to avoid her fate becomes tied in with Iris’ fate. At some point, do we have to make a choice?”
Grant Gustin explained how Barry’s own superpowers allow him to understand Caitlin’s struggle.
“He’s not necessarily going through the same thing, but in a way, better than other people, he can empathize and understand that these powers are clouding her mind, [so he] just tries to help her fight through it.”
The Flash is currently on hiatus and will return with new episodes on April 25 with “The Once and Future Flash“.
The episode will be directed by series star Tom Cavanagh.
