Fox Properties Could Remain A ‘Seperate Imprint’ Post Disney Merger

A new report suggests Fox’s properties could remain a separate imprint like Marvel and Lucasfilm post Disney merger.

The Disney-Fox deal is inching closer to finalization, causing a massive shift in the entertainment industry. With the deal, Disney will acquire Fox’s FX, Fox Searchlight, and National Geographic. A new report from Variety suggests Disney is considering to Fox’s properties as a separate imprint. This would be similar to what Disney has done with Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar. The move would also make Disney+ and Hulu more appealing to consumers by offering brands as prestigious as FX and Fox Searchlight. However, Disney could also integrate the TV and Film productions units- no decision has been made yet.

Disney’s next big release is Captain Marvel, here is the synopsis:

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel will be released in theaters on March 8, 2019.
