Gal Gadot Responds To Fan Outcry Over ‘Wonder Woman’ Oscar Snub

Actress Gal Gadot shares her thoughts on 'Wonder Woman' not receiving any Academy Awards nominations, despite the DC film's overwhelming success.

Wonder Woman may have shattered all expectations with its box office performance and critical reception, but failed to earn a single nomination at this year’s Academy Awards. While many fans were upset over the perceived Oscar snub, Gal Gadot has spoken up about her feelings on the matter.

Gal Gadot spoke to Entertainment Tonight and expressed her gratitude that so many Wonder Woman fans were vocal in their support of the DC film:

“I was very moved and touched by the feedback of all the people that were disappointed that ‘Wonder Woman’ wasn’t nominated. But we certainly never did the movie for that.”

While Gal Gadot is more than happy with the first film’s reception, she hopes that Wonder Woman 2 will fare better during Awards Season:

“I think that you can’t have it all. We’ve done this movie and it was received in such an amazing, wonderful way, and we want to stay humble and grateful, and we’re going to have another movie, so who knows? Maybe the next one!”

Do you think that Wonder Woman should’ve gotten at least one Oscar nomination? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Wonder Woman is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD. Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins will return for Wonder Woman 2, which is currently set to hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
