Gal Gadot, star of the highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe film 'Wonder Woman' discusses why Diana is dead-set on her mission to defeat the God of War.
One of the reasons why audiences have already fallen in love with Wonder Woman is the fact that Gal Gadot has showcased that she embodies everything Wonder Woman stands for on so many different levels. The amount of dedication she put into the character looks like it is about to pay off.
In Wonder Woman, Diana leaves her home Themyscria and joins her new friend Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) to fight against the threats coming from the war to end all wars. Diana is a woman who is steadfast on completing her tasks in order to save the lives of many.
Recently, Gadot had the opportunity to hint at how Diana’s fish-out-of-water adventure leads to her embracing her destiny – even as she enters the horrors of World War I.
I think it’s… fascinating for her. I think that she’s so focused on her mission that she doesn’t pay too much attention to everything… She knows that she—I don’t know how much can I say—but she knows that she wants to stop the God of War and she’ll do anything it takes.
In just under two weeks, the world will finally join Diana Prince on a cinematic journey multiple decades in the making. Brace yourselves, DC fans. Christmas has come early this year, and our gift is courtesy of Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and the rest of the cast and crew who helped bring this movie to life.
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.
Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017.
