‘Game of Thrones’ Fan Begs For Season 8 Rewrite With Epic Plane Banner

Game of Thrones season 8 continues to get immense backlash, with one fan mad enough to demand a rewrite via an airplane banner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Game of Thrones “casual fan” Ryan Geddes created a GoFundMe account for the banner. Geddes raised nearly $700 for the banner, which reads “SOMEONE REWRITE GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8 PLZ.” The banner flew over Seattle’s downtown area on Wednesday for about 30 minutes before it was spread all over the web. Geddes told the trade:

I made this just to send to a couple friends as a joke, not really thinking it would go anywhere, and then we hit our limit [for funding],

Here’s a look at the banner:

Game of Thrones season 8 suffered the lowest rated episodes and overall season. Currently, the season itself is sitting at critic rating of 58%, far below the other seasons which are all above 90%. The penultimate and final episodes of Game of Thrones are also the lowest rated with both sitting at 48%.

What did you think of the final season of Game of Thrones? Do you believe it needs a rewrite? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments!

David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill wrote the final six episodes, which have been directed by David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik, with Benioff and Weiss helming the series finale. Benioff and Weiss returned to executive produce the final season alongside Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield, with Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin serving as co-executive producers.

George R.R. Martin’s best-selling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” depicts two powerful families — kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men — all playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Winter is coming.

Game of Thrones stars Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Liam Cunningham as Ser Davos Seaworth, Carice van Houten as Melisandre, Rory McCann as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, Conleth Hill as Varys, Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy, John Bradley as Samwell Tarly, Gwendoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth, Kristofer Hivju as Tormund Giantsbane, Isaac Hempstead Wright as Bran Stark, Jerome Flynn as Bronn, Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont, Hannah Murray as Gilly.
