‘Game Of Thrones’: Kit Harington Explains Where Jon Snow Was Going In The Last Scene

Kit Harington cleared up questions regarding Jon Snow’s destination in the final scene of Game of Thrones.

After killing Daenerys Targaryen, Kit Harington’s Jon Snow was imprisoned while the Lords and Ladies of Westeros considered his fate. While some wanted Jon Snow freed, others believed he deserved severe punishment for murdering the Dragon Queen. Ultimately, a comprise was reached that resulted in Kit Harington’s Jon Snow being sent back to the Night’s Watch for the remainder of his life.

However, the final scene of Game of Thrones concluded with Kit Harington’s Jon Snow traveling beyond the wall with the Free Folk, seemingly to join them. Unfortunately, it appears some were unsure about the meaning behind the final scene, with some wondering if Jon Snow was really traveling beyond the wall permanently or if he simply escorting the Free Folk, perhaps on a range mission. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kit Harington confirmed Jon Snow was venturing beyond the wall to spend the rest of life with the Free Folk:

“[S]eeing him go beyond the Wall back to something true, something honest, something pure with these people he was always told he belongs with — the Free Folk — it felt to me like he was finally free. Instead of being chained and sent to the Wall, it felt like he was set free. It was a really sweet ending. As much as he had done a horrible thing [in killing Daenerys], as much as he had felt that pain, the actual ending for him was finally being released.”
