Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Shankman teased how much the three dragons have grown since we last saw them in the closing moments of season six, as well as how much firepower they’re going to be packing this year. Here’s what he told the site:
“The dragons this year are the size of 747s. Drogon is the biggest of the bunch — his flame is 30-feet in diameter!”
In case you’re not quite sure how big that is: a 747 is 230 feet long, with a 210 feet wingspan. I guess saying that they’ve grown a bit since last year would be a bit of an understatement, so I’m just going to leave it at that.
We’re probably going to get a first look at the dragons in this season’s trailer, but we’re not sure about when exactly we’re going to see one yet. We do know that Game of Thrones returns on July 16, though, so a sneak peek can’t be too far away.
