‘Game Of Thrones’ Director Confirms Brienne-Tormund ship is very real

This last week’s episode of Game of Thrones, “Book of the Stranger,” had several huge moments for fans. From the explosive ending, to some of the episodes minor details, the episode was jam packed with plenty of juicy details for fans to dig into. But among all of the little moments, there was one thing that stood out to many fans.

As Sansa Stark was taken back to Castle Black by Brienne, fans immediately noticed how Brienne seemingly shared a few moment with Tormund Giantsbane, the Wildling chieftain. Almost immediately fans knew something was up, and began to theorize if this was intentional. But now it has been confirmed.

Speaking with TV Guide, this last episode’s director Dan Sackheim, revealed that the budding relationship tensions were very real:

“I wasn’t even sure that when I delivered the episode it was really clear, it was like a fun little bit, but I wasn’t sure it was really clear that he had these amorous feelings for Brienne. I’m always amazed what fans pick up.”

But despite what fans may think, as of right now, the attraction is only one way.

“I think it was fairly one-sided, but that’s OK, there’s nothing like a challenge. Men love a challenge.”

So will this plot thread play out in this next week’s episode? Quite possibly, I don’t see it becoming something that is quickly dusted under the rug. But one thing is for certain, in typical Game of Thrones fashion, any budding romance typically spells danger for our characters.
