‘Game Of Thrones’ Showrunners Reveal Their Choice For The Show’s Worst Scene

HBO’s Game of Thrones has delivered a number of thrilling, frightening, infuriating and epic moments over the course of the show’s six season run. While fans have often stated their most and least favorite scenes of the series, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss had yet to reveal their selection for the show’s worst sequence. However, Benioff and Weiss finally shared their choice for the worst scene of the series during a panel at this year’s South by Southwest festival.

Benioff and Weiss explained which Game of Thrones scene they believe was the worst of the series and the reason why it was included to begin with.

“There’s a scene in the pilot that might be the worst scene we’ve ever written — probably the most embarrassing — with the Stark boys and Jon Snow and Theon. They’re all shaving each other — like getting their haircut. And they were all shirtless, and it’s like, ‘Wait, why is this in here?’ And the only reason it was in there [is because there] was no continuity between scenes in the pilot where their beards are all different [due to how much the actors had grown from when the pilot first started shooting to when it was re-shot a year later]. And if you look closely, you could tell they were all flexing because they’re shirtless. They’re all flexing their abs.”

it is an interesting choice to select a scene included solely to resolve production issues, especially since fans would most likely point to more violent and/or controversial scenes in the history of Game of Thrones. Do you agree with Benioff and Weiss’ choice? What would your pick be? Share your thoughts below!

Game of Thrones season seven will premiere on July 16, 2017 on HBO.
