‘Wonder Woman 2’: Geena Davis Asked Patty Jenkins For A Role

Patty Jenkins is on her way to a legendary payday for Wonder Woman 2. After the success of the first film earlier this summer, Warner Bros. and DC Films were certainly going to sign her on for the sequel with final talks currently underway. Thanks to its success, actors and actresses are now lining up for the opportunity to work with Jenkins on any of her next projects – including the sequel. One of the latest actresses to throw her name into consideration is Geena Davis.

While speaking to Variety, Davis revealed that she recently spoke to Jenkins about the potential opportunity to appear in Wonder Woman 2:

“I met Patty Jenkins and I told her, ‘I’m sure you’re going to make a sequel and if you need anybody Amazonian, there’s always me. I’m available.’”

Gal Gadot is expected to reprise her role as Diana Prince after her critically acclaimed performance as the Amazonian warrior. Her co-stars on Themyscira including Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen were also praised for playing strong, empowering roles for women.

Details surrounding the story of Wonder Woman 2 currently remain under wraps, including new character additions that would require new actors and actresses to join the cast. In theory, if Jenkins were to court Davis for a role as an Amazonian warrior or even another DC character, that would be a big win for Wonder Woman 2.

Would you like to see Davis appear in Wonder Woman 2 as an Amazonian warrior? If not an Amazonian, what other DC characters would she play? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue to follow Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news regarding Wonder Woman 2 and the rest of the DC Extended Universe.

Wonder Woman will be available digitally on August 29, 2017. It will also be available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD on September 19, 2017.
