DC Comics has posted a new video with Geoff Johns, who guides us all on a special preview of the beginning of Doomsday Clock.

DC Comics has posted a new video with Geoff Johns, who guides us all on a special preview of the beginning of Doomsday Clock.

The upcoming series will be a 12-issue event that will be self-contained does not cross over into other titles, set for release starting this November. Set in 1992 of the Watchmen universe, Ozymandias’s grand plan to unite the world comes crashing down when it comes to light that he was behind the infamous attack on New York that killed millions of people, making him the most wanted man of Earth as every government wants to bring him to justice.

You can check out the video below for more:

The video starts with Johns explaining that the new story is an homage to the original Watchmen #1, while also giving us a hint at how much time has passed through an unreliable narrator. The Watchmen world has been thrown into chaos, and an x-ray is revealed that does not look like a good prognosis for the person it belongs to. Nuclear war appears imminent and that’s when we get our first glimpse of Rorschach.

Dates and references and callbacks abound in the new series, and this video serves as a way to really whet fans’ appetites as they await Doomsday Clock.

Doomsday Clock starts ticking on November 22, 2017.
