George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road is considered one of the greatest action films of all time and holds a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Mad Max: Fury Road also won six Oscars and received ten nominations, which included Best Picture. However, the film did struggle at the box office, grossing a disappointing $378M worldwide.
Director George Miller has expressed his desire to do another Mad Max film and a possible Furiosa spin-off film. There have also been recent rumors that another Mad Max film could happen. In a recent interview with the LA Times, Warner Bros. head Kevin Tsujihara expressed interest in doing another Mad Max project when he said the following:
“We have incredible franchises on the features side such as “The Matrix.” We’d love to work with George Miller on furthering the “Mad Max” franchise. We feel there’s a big opportunity on the Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera side as well. We need to invest and build those franchises up. We think that, despite their age, they still maintain a special place in kids’ hearts.”
Do you think there will be another Mad Max film? Maybe a television series on WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service? Sound off in the comments below!
