It looks like production is still underway with the live-action Ghost in the Shell adaptation and a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the movie has surfaced, featuring director Rupert Sanders and star Scarlett Johansson in full costume along with Mamoru Oshii, Kenji Kamiyama, Kenji Kawai and Tricky.
Oshii directed the 1995 Ghost in the Shell animated movie, as well as a spin-off and an updated version of the original film, which were all scored by Kawai. Kamiyama was the director of the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex anime television series and its second season, plus the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – Solid State Society TV movie, so their seal of approval should give fans plenty of hope for the project.
The behind-the-scenes photo was first shared on the English Production I.G Twitter page last week. You can check out the tweet below.
Starring Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Michael Pitt, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, Rila Fukushima, Chin Han, Kaori Momoi, Yutaka Izumihara, Danusia Samal and Lasarus Ratuere, Ghost In The Shell opens in theaters on March 31, 2017. Are you excited?
